Yes, the first things that comes to mind is that my poor lentils are completely broken. I’ve cooked them too much, I didn’t know that the red lentils were the quickest to cook and that only 15mn was sufficient. Nevertheless, the taste was really good and that’s the main thing. I would have loved the picture to be more beautiful if the lentils where full 🙂

I actually bought these lentils this summer when I was in Menorca. The color was so beautiful that I couldn’t resist 🙂

Many people don’t like lentils but if it’s well cooked, it is really good to my point of view. I love a lentils meal, but better warm for me that in salads.

What do you need?

  • xg of red lentils (or coral)
  • 120g of bacon lardons
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 shallot
  • 1 garlic clove
  • water
  • 20cl of white wine
  • Laurel, salt, black pepper
  1. Stir the bacon without adding any oil as it will be sufficiently greasy, add the shallots that you will previously cut and the tomatoes
  2. Add the 2 carrots cut in big chunk and the garlic clove
  3. Add the white wine and stir in for a few minutes
  4. Add the lentils (you can previously clean them with water, I personally don’t always do it) and the laurel, salt, black pepper
  5. Cook for 12-15mn at very low fire to not destroy the lentils like I did 🙂
